Job Summary:
| The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at Fairleigh Dickinson University invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (depending on qualifications) in Mathematics at the FDU Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, New Jersey. FDU is a private, nonprofit Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) of higher education, with two New Jersey campuses, the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck and the Florham Campus in Madison. The Metropolitan Campus is home to a majority-minority student body. A number of the mathematics classes offered on the Metro campus each semester are designed for students in specialized programs in our Hispanic Center & Center for Student Success, which provides Spanish-English speaking students with personalized support and resources to help ensure academic success from enrollment to graduation. The Metropolitan Campus also has a strong career focus, as it is home to many of FDU’s business, professional, science, and health care programs. Students served by the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at Metro include both two-year and four-year students as well as both traditional-age undergraduates and adult learners.


Required Qualifications:
: The faculty hire should hold a minimum of a M.S degree in Mathematics or closely related field, with extensive experience in teaching developmental and general education Math courses, and will be responsible for teaching undergraduate level courses in Mathematics, including developmental and general education math courses. Bilingual Spanish-English preferred. The ideal candidate will have expertise and a record of excellence in teaching Math to Spanish-English speaking students at the undergraduate level. Demonstrated ability to mentor minority students. Must be prepared to engage in ongoing professional development and service activities within the Hispanic Center & Center for Student Success and the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics. Teaching load of 12 credits per semester; the primary teaching responsibility will be sections of Math at all levels designated for students in the Hispanic Center & Center for Student Success programs and the secondary teaching responsibility will be other sections of Math, particularly at the developmental and gen ed levels.
Submit a cover letter/letter of interest, curriculum vitae, sample syllabi, teaching philosophy, sample of scholarship, and three letters of recommendation.
