Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock – from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to improve our systems, products and processes - all while providing customer support to our clients.

Our Team:

The Bloomberg Data AI group brings cutting-edge AI technologies into Bloomberg’s Data organization while contributing deep financial subject matter expertise to the development of AI-powered products. We partner closely with stakeholders to align AI innovation with Bloomberg’s strategic objectives, focusing on optimizing data workflows and elevating the quality, intelligence, and usability of the data that drives our products. Our work amplifies the impact of the Data organization by delivering intelligent data solutions and domain-informed systems that improve the capabilities and competitiveness of Bloomberg’s offerings.

The Role:

Bloomberg is seeking a strategic and operationally strong leader to oversee our Localization organization. This team plays a critical role in ensuring Bloomberg’s content, products, and communications are delivered with linguistic accuracy, cultural nuance, and operational efficiency across global markets.

This leader will assume responsibility for an established localization function and will be accountable for understanding, evaluating, and evolving the team’s operating model, quality standards, and performance expectations. The role requires a balance of people leadership, operational rigor, and business partnership.

You will assess current workflows, tooling, vendor strategy (where applicable), cost structures, and quality controls, and implement improvements that enhance both efficiency and output quality. You will also partner closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial, and AI stakeholders to ensure localization practices support evolving business priorities, including the evaluation and validation of translated content where internal subject matter expertise is required.

This role requires a leader who can bring clarity, raise standards, and build a high-performing organization aligned with Bloomberg’s global ambitions.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Lead and evolve the Localization organization, setting clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Assess and optimize the team’s operating model, including workflows, tooling, cost structure, vendor strategy, and quality frameworks.

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality multilingual output aligned with Bloomberg’s editorial, product, and brand standards.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Editorial, Engineering, and AI stakeholders to align localization strategy with business priorities and scaling needs.

  • Serve as an internal authority on language quality and translation evaluation, leveraging in-house expertise where external validation is not feasible.

  • Drive process, automation, and tooling enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, and measurable outcomes.

You’ll need to have:

  • Significant experience leading localization, language operations, content operations, or comparable production organizations.

  • Proven success improving operational performance, quality standards, and cost effectiveness within a scaled environment.

  • Strong people leadership experience, including setting expectations, developing talent, and managing performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess operating models and implement structural or process improvements.

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders in product, engineering, editorial, or similarly technical environments.

  • Executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to lead through change.

We’d love to see:

  • Experience in financial services, media, or other high-precision, content-driven industries.

  • Familiarity with translation management systems, localization tooling, or structured quality evaluation frameworks.

  • Experience incorporating automation or AI-assisted workflows into content or localization operations.

  • A track record of leading organizational transformation or capability upgrades.
