Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I (Experiential Biodiversity Learning) for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. Reporting to the Chair, the Program Coordinator in Experiential Biodiversity Learning plays a critical, hands-on role in enabling experiential teaching, mentoring, and undergraduate engagement in biodiversity across DEENR. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Maintains and expands the zoological natural history collection (focused on both research and teaching). Mentors students directly in biodiversity collections curation and outreach. Manages specialized experiential teaching spaces. Builds partnerships that create internship pipelines for undergraduate students interested in careers in biodiversity collections and outreach within and outside of Rutgers. Ensures instructors in lab-based courses are safely trained in the use of, and have reliable access to, zoological specimens and equipment. Ensures that DEENR delivers high-quality, hands-on biodiversity learning experiences to the university, especially as part of the Experiential Learning academic goals.
