Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Student Assistant to work in the Department of Rehabilitation & Movement Science-Speech Language Pathology Program.

The Student Assistant will work in the SLP Clinic and Summer Focus Center, both located in Newark, translating Speech Therapy work from English into Spanish and/or Portuguese.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide real-time interpretation support from English into Spanish or Portuguese during individual and group therapy sessions, clinical evaluations, and parent coaching and educational activities.
  • Translate documents from English to Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary Details $15.92/hour is budgeted for this position.
Minimum Salary 15.92
Mid Range Salary 75.00
Maximum Salary 150.00

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Current Rutgers Student enrolled in undergrad or graduate program.
  • Must have good academic standing, without warnings or probation, and must demonstrate excellent professional behavior.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese; or fluent in all 3 languages.
  • Must be able to pass a spoken and written proficiency language test before employment can be offered.
