SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Rowan College at Burlington County, a comprehensive college in New Jersey's largest county, is seeking qualified applicants for adjuncts in the Cancer Registry Management Program. Adjuncts in the Cancer Registry Management program may be asked to teach any of the seven core courses in the program in the Spring, Summer or Fall semesters. Please note: Course caps may be up to 40 students.

Adjunct Faculty will be paid $700 per credit hour for this position. Sr. Adjunct Faculty will be paid $750 per credit hour. Health Sciences Adjunct Faculty will be paid $875 per credit hour.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The Cancer Registry Program adjunct will utilize the Blackboard Course Management System to instruct courses in the Cancer Registry Management program. This includes preparation of the course(s) in the Learning Management System each semester. This includes preparing:

  • Syllabus (following required college template)
  • Course Schedule
  • Quizzes
  • Tests
  • Assignments
  • Discussion Board questions
  • Grading Methodology
  • Reviewing and uploading appropriate content
  • Assist with evaluation of textbooks, references, as well as computer software necessary for program course enhancement.

Participation in the Cancer Registry Management Advisory Committee 2 times per year.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:
Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (or in process) with an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential.

Experience Required:
Five or more years’ experience in Cancer Registry Management at a healthcare facility. Teaching experience at a college level

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:

  • Active participation in NCRA or state registry a plus
  • Blackboard Course Management system experience
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to learn new systems easily
  • Good Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Microsoft Office experience

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
