This position is responsible for the planning, developing, and managing the execution of Public Service Electric and Gas Company’s materials management, inventory, storeroom operations, and materials logistics strategies statewide at over 24 different locations. Responsibilities include providing oversight of daily storeroom operations including functions performed by a team of management, bargaining unit, and contractors in a manner that ensures personnel safety, asset protection, and resource optimization. The Manager – Material and Logistics Management is also responsible for optimizing PSE&G’s material inventory, material storage and distribution logistics, and work management process in support of corporate goals for continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with regulatory compliance and other key internal controls. PSE&G’s Materials Management organization receives and delivers over $200 million is materials annually to internal clients and manages over $500 million in inventory plus spare equipment necessary to ensure the safe, economic and reliable delivery of electricity and natural gas to millions of customers. The team encompasses over 100 employees working across 24 or more locations statewide.
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of materials management with a minimum of 5 years of materials management or logistics experience.
- Experience leading teams in a service organization focused on supporting internal customers.
- Experience managing an organization that includes bargaining unit employees.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in change management.
- Demonstrated business acumen.
- Experience in process optimization and optimization of resources.
- Familiarity with enterprise business systems such as SAP.
- Experience with workplace technology solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as proficiency in developing and making presentations.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired
- Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Operational experience in a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or utility environment.
- Familiarity with storeroom or materials management operations.
- General knowledge of the Electric and Gas utility Industry.
